My Melbourne Trip

So over the Anzac day Long weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to go on a trip to Melbourne! The last time I went was about 5 years ago so I don’t really remember much of it but was super excited to go again!

What we were both really looking forward to was Ai Wei Wei and Andy Warhol’s exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria! It was going to finish in the 26th if April so we luckily got there in time! We caught a plane from Sydney wednesday night after work, stayed for a couple of days and then flew to Tasmania! (which I’ll write about in a separate post!)

The exhibition was amazzzinngg! I loved it so much! We also checked out another art gallery, ate heaps of food at Heston Blumenthal’s “Dinner” restaurant (so sad we missed the Fat Duck but I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t have even gotten a table there seeing as you had to enter a raffle haha), went shopping and explored Brunswick, visited a few record stores (where I found out Prince passed away!!) and generally just had a really relaxing time! It was a really nice getaway .. it felt like I was overseas even though we weren’t!

Here are a few photos from our trip!
I hope to print out quite a few of them and make a photo album! (I’ve been meaning to make one for aggesssss but just havn’t had the time to/am too lazy to)

Oh wow gal, you are making me miss Melbourne SO much!! I’m loving all your adventures, so inspiring. That Andy Warhol and Ai Wei Wei exhibition looks amazing, I really wanted to go see it. It looks super fun, especially loving those giant tooth brushes too.

How amazing that you got to try hestons restaurant, when I watched this documentary of the fat duck arriving in aus as a pop up i couldn’t believe it, i would definitely love to try it but it looked very expensive and exclusive – especially with a selection of people only. How gorgeous is his food though? How lucky of you to be able to try it!

Hey Jennifer! When did you go to Melbourne last? You should go again if you get some time off soon! Hahaha the shop with the giant toothbrushes was awesome. It had alot of nice knick knacks and games, toys, souvenirs.. I REALLY wanted to take the stalk of donuts (which was a stool) home but theres no way it would have fit in my luggage hahahaha If you want to check it out the shop is called ‘Third Drawer Down’

Ye there was nooo way I would have gotten a table into the Fat Duck because they had a raffle and people had to buy tickets and try to win places. This new one he has open called ‘Dinner’ was much easier to book and the food was amazing! Now as ‘outthere’ as the fat duck but was a very enjoyable experience!
