new makeup brushes

I ordered these brushes a couple of weeks ago and they’re finally here! I don’t own many makeup brushes. I think it also encourages me to use makeup more because I feel more encouraged to use them! I bought my first set of brushes a year ago. Thats right, you heard me. A YEAR AGO. Previously I was using my fingers to apply my makeup because I felt it was just easier to do. I think i’ve realised since then that brushes do help with application because it means I can spread out product more evenly and I’m not transferring bacteria from my fingers to my face. I think applying makeup to my face with my fingers previously also encouraged pimples and since I’ve used brushes, my skin problems have decreased dramatically!

I started buying one or two brushes from random makeups stores around the Sydney CBD but then realised that the hairs in the brushes started to fall out really quickly. My very first set of brushes I bought were off ebay! They were the Jessup brushes and I bought a set of 12 pink brushes. I still use them to this day and I love them! These ones so far have no fallout and fingers crossed they will stay that way!

These three brushes I use for my blush, translucent powder and contour mainly. I alternate between Benefit’s Hoola and Anastasia’s cream contour kit and I find that the bottom brush does well in spreading and softening my contour!

The first two brushes I use mainly for eyeshadow as they help to spread the pigment out more around my eyes. The third one I use for my eyebrows.

I havn’t touched this brush at all because I’m not sure what to use it for! I guess I could use it for some of my powders also!

Has anyone else bought Jessup brushes or other brushes online? How well would you rate them?

I’ve heard of jessup brushes before and they look really nice. This set you picked up is really nice and very dupable to the real tech metal ones, which in my opinion are way over priced for what they are. I was sent one if their brushes and although it is nice I know I would never fork out that amount of money for them. These will definitely be on my list to pick up when I need to get more brushes. I have so many brushes, I find theyre just a staple in my collection and I love discovering new ones to try. These jessup brushes will look so pretty on my table! πŸ™‚
